How To Make The Best Chilli Ever

What is comfort food really? Whenever I eat chicken noodle soup, I’m reminded of a time when I was child, and I got sick, my mother fixed me chicken noodle soup to make me feel better.

A lot of times when we eat foods, the taste and smells may spark a memory of love and comfort from a point of time in our lives. But, is comfort food the only foods that provides nostalgic memories because I’m also comforted when I eat ice cream. Whenever I have a bad day, I turn to sweets, or any other sugary treat to make me feel better. So, food does have the ability to improve our moods.

Chili Recipe

One of my favorite cold weather comfort food is chili. I’ve made chili many different ways, but I’ve never made chili in an instant pot. A few days ago, I got all my ingredients together and threw it in an instant pot and it came out great. The instant pot cooked it in half the time it would have taken me to cook it on the stove.

Here is my favorite chili recipe: Enjoy!

2 pounds ground beef

2 cloves garlic, chopped

2 chopped onions

1/2 chopped green and red bell peppers

One 8-ounce canned tomato sauce

One 8-ounce canned of diced tomatoes

2 tablespoons chili powder

Add chives

1 teaspoon ground cumin

1 teaspoon salt

Optional: Jalapenos

Two 15 ounce can kidney beans

Shredded Cheddar, for serving

Tortilla chips or crackers, for serving
